The name FISH comes from the ancient Greek acrostic word for fish (ICYTHOUS) which was used by early Christians as a symbol of faith.

Started in 1970, FISH was formed by local Christian churches

• To strengthen individuals and families
• To promote health and healing
• To increase the self sufficiency of those we assist

OUR SUPPORT

FISH is supported financially by donations from local churches, clubs, organizations, agencies and individuals who share our mission. FISH also receives funds from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Act) and from the United Way. A grant from the Health Care Foundation allows us to assist with some medical and dental needs. Lower Columbia Community Action Council (CAP) supports us with phone service, photocopying and office space.
